Common questions

Everything you might be wondering before you reach out. If your question isn't here, just ask.

No referral is needed. You can book directly whenever you're ready.

We'll spend the first session getting to know each other: what's brought you here, what you're hoping to get out of counselling, and whether I'm the right fit for you. There's no pressure to have it all figured out before we start.

Yes. Everything shared in session is confidential, with the standard legal exceptions around risk of harm to yourself or others, which I'll explain clearly in our first session.

Yes. Her Haven Counselling is a space exclusively for women, by design.

That depends entirely on you and what you're working through. Some women come for a handful of sessions to work through something specific; others stay longer-term. We'll check in regularly on what's working and adjust as needed.

That's a completely valid reason to start. You don't need a clear diagnosis or a tidy explanation, just a willingness to look at it.

You'll receive a secure video link before each session. All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.

24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. (Karen to confirm final wording.)

Single sessions are $129 for 50 minutes. I also offer a Fresh Start Package (4 weekly sessions for $429) designed to help you get started without overcommitting financially. See the Pricing & Packages page for full details, including a note on reduced-fee options if cost is a barrier.

You don't have to know exactly what to say. You just have to reach out.
